CHOOSING YOUR WEDDING ACCESSORIES
When deciding on your wedding accessories and jewellery there are four main points to think about…
Have you decided on how you would like to wear your hair on the day? Are you wearing your hair up or keeping it loose and more natural? Do you have shorter hair? Send us any ideas or photographs of how you would like your hair to look and we can advise on which of our designs/type of accessory would suit your style better.
Do you have a wedding hair specialist booked for the trial ? – we work closely with several amazing hairstylists and can recommend these to you if needed. It is so important to use a qualified wedding hairstylist (they are so different from your regular hairdresser!).
Have you chosen your dress? We usually recommend that you choose your dress before considering your accessories (although some of our lovely brides completely fall in love with one of our headpieces and base the whole wedding theme around this).
Does your dress have lace?…if so, we can incorporate any offcuts or swatches into your accessories (or use similar , matching lace).
Is your dress a full-skirted , princess style ? … (we love these!) – then maybe a more traditional headpiece/tiara would work well.
Is your dress boho/ethereal style?… then we might suggest a delicate hairvine or maybe a flower circlet. Send us some pics of your dress (or even bring it along to our little studio if you have already collected it! – you are welcome to try our headpieces on while you are wearing your dress – this is the perfect way to see which headpiece suits the dress.
Where is your wedding venue?… Are you getting married in a church?.. then maybe you might choose a tiara or headpiece which is more formal.
Are you having an outdoor civil ceremony?.. then you might opt for something less formal, maybe a hairvine or some pretty hairpins?
Let us know your wedding venue and wedding style and we can advise on which accessory might be most suitable.
TYPE OF ADORNMENT…
Here at White Designs we design and create any style of headpiece/jewellery etc. You can decide whether you would like a more traditional tiara or side detail tiara.
Our tiara bands are extremely flexible and comfortable – most brides arrive at our studio and say they are not keen on wearing a tiara as the band will dig into their head and be painful and uncomfortable. However, our bands are amazing. After the wedding, the same brides will message to say how they couldn’t even feel that they were wearing anything in their hair.
Hairvines are a popular alternative to a tiara – very flexible and can be worn in so many different ways.
Combs are a great option if you decide to wear your hair up – they look beautiful when worn in the back of a loose bun for example.
Hairpins are a great alternative if you would like to keep the look more understated and just want a little bit of detail and sparkle without wearing a headpiece or tiara. They are also perfect for your bridesmaids or flowergirls and can be made to complement your headpiece , using the same Swarovski pearls and crystals etc.
Of course, we can design and make other accessories. These include jewellery, garters, shoe-clips and we have a fabulous range of pretty accessories for your little flowergirls too.
Please contact us and we would love to help design the perfect headpiece or accessory for your wedding day.
